During the past several years he has performed numerous information systems audits in state-chartered, OCC-chartered, and OTS-chartered banks.  He performs all of the information systems audits for which the middle Georgia Certified Public Accounting firm, McNair, McLemore, Middlebrooks & Co. are responsible.

Information Systems Audits performed by U&A are directed toward ensuring that a bank’s information systems operation is adhering to an operational and administrative internal control structure requisite to the safety of the bank’s informational resources. Controls, as evidenced through bank policies, procedures, practices, and organizational structures are examined to determine if they reduce to an acceptable level any risks to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the bank’s information assets. It also evaluates the extent to which the bank complies with corporate policies and legal mandates. Please also see Focus on Information Systems Auditing.
Our examination is risk based and focuses on a number of broad categories which normally comprise the fundamentals of information systems management and processing within the context of a commercial bank.  Of course, other matters within the domain of information systems processing which may be suggested by the findings in these specified areas are also be examined.  The broad categories which we review include:

1.  Internal/External Audit Program
2.  Management of IS Operation
3.  Vendor Management
4.  Development and Acquisition
5.  Operations
6.  Information Security
7.  Business Continuity
